Baracoa city, Guantanamo province, Cuba
Within it resides the Cruz de La Parra, a cross that Christopher Columbus erected. Baracoa was founded in 1512. The cross was taken as a Christian symbol and travelled from town to town where pieces were taken from it. It now appears as a cross about three to four feet tall. Its ends are capped in silver and it is displayed in a glass case.
